Changes in Press

    Without question, press has been experiencing a great change due to e-books. E-books is more convenient in theirs weight and cheaper in price. For example, when you go somewhere by air, the baggage is limited, physical books are not only heavy but also occupy space, you prefer to choose e-books.

    Such truth shows directly the shock brought by e-books.

    Now, some people still love reading physicals books. But, I want to see how about the future of physical books? 

Shakespeare and Company, in Paris

    Shakespeare and Company is the name of the independent bookstores on Paris's Left Bank. I knew this bookshop through the magazine called MING when I was in the university in China. I am the reading lovers, so I care about the bookshop.
    Shakespeare and Company is a wonderful and famous bookshop. Writers and artists of the "Lost Generation," such as Ernest Hemingway, Ezra Pound, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein, George Antheil and Man Ray, spent a great deal of time there. And the shop was featured in the Richard Linklater film Before Sunset and in the Woody Allen film Midnight in Paris.
    Most importantly, this  bookshop has an open altitude towards people. They even take in wanders. On the first floor of this bookshop, there is a bed. If readers read lately, they can use this bed in night.
 

    In here,  you can immerse yourself in books. They sale many English books. It is a place for people to study French and English. Besides, they holds reading salons. The staff said, they will have a cafe and underground cinema.

 

BBC: Class & Culture

    Now, society has moved towards a more equal society. And culture is more accessible, available and open. This documentary wants to explore--" I want to see if class that tangled web of divisions, of sub-divisions, upper, middle ,  lower, all that fuzziness,  who has, who has not, is still at the heart of cculture today."

  In here, the documentary shows a trend of the future culture. It is mixture and crossed. For example, the middle class loves the cartoon magazine made by working class.

Cetipede Cinema

Location: Guimarães, Portugal
Design: Bartlett School of Architecture professor Colin Fournier,  Polish artist Marysia Lewandowska and London studio NEON

    The structure is named the Centipede Cinema because the protruding lower bodies of viewers give it a similar form to one of the many-legged creepy crawlies.The only way to watch a film at this unconventional cinema, is by manoeuvring your upper body into one of 16 downward-pointing nozzles.

1. Live-action Performance "IMPRESSION"

    "IMPRESSION" series are the product of tourism and culture in China.The content of these performances are about the local people, custom and stories. These shows are performed in travelling spots, attracting lots of travelers to watch the shows. Directors are WANG CHAOGE, ZHANG YIMOU, FAN YUE.

     The creative idea of "IMPRESSION" is that performers play the show in the natural environment instead of in theatre. You can see the vedio called  Impression of West Lake. It is amazing!!!

2.Strawberry Music Festivel 

    Like Midi Music Festive, Strawberry Music Festivel is one of the most popular music festivals in China. 2014, Maggie Cheung join this festival. In here, you can find so many Chinese rock anf folk singers and bands. They are full of talent.

3. Busker

    When I traveled in Paris, Berlin and Prague, I met so many buskers who had their own styles. And I found an interesting phenomenon.

 

Ai Weiwei , People's Voice

    Ai Weiwei, born 18 May 1957 in Beijing, is a Chinese contemporary artist, active in sculpture, installation, architecture, curating, photography, film, and social, political and cultural criticism. As a political activist, he has been highly and openly critical of the Chinese Government's stance on democracy and human rights. He has investigated government corruption and cover-ups.

    I cannot remember what kind of situation made me know Ai Weiwei. I just remember I brought his book called Time and Place from Amazon. The articles in that book all come from his blog about film, design, art and architecture. His ideas are philosophic, making me to re-think.

   Actually, in my mind, Ai is a  political activist more than a artist. When something happens in China, this brave people always stands out, show his opinions and criticize the government. Goverment is afraid of him! In this age, people should be brave and do not afraid of government, although government does dirty tricks. Due to these criticism, the society can make a progression. Everyone's East Lake

    SHENZHEN HUAQIAOCHENG, a real estate developer in China, in order to build an eco-community(actually, eco-community is their excuse, what they want is the money.) and a happy valley, filled the east lake. But they claimed that they did not fill lake. You know, Google earth does not allow you to tell a lie. Donghu is the most important lake in Wuhan, Hubei province, China. And this lake is a famous and national travelling spot. Besides, this lake carries the memory of the locals.

    LI JUCHUANG , an architect, artist in Wuhan, organized the public to disclose Shenzhen Huaqiaocheng's illegal behaviour by showing their artist works around the east lake. These red and blue marks are the locations where people showed their art works.
